Lappi

... is simply the Finnish name for Lapland. Lappi cheese is cheese from Lapland – just as Cheddar is cheese from Cheddar, Caerphilly is cheese from Caerphilly, Stilton is cheese from Stilton ... and so on.

Except that we all know it probably isn't!
